If you’re due to welcome a baby this year or next and are drawn to the idea of having a maternity photoshoot, then we’d love to tell you more about how we can help!
Here at Kingshill Studios in Aberdeen, one of our specialist services is pregnancy photography.
Pregnancy Photos
Our pregnancy photoshoots are available to book all year round. They’re an opportunity for us to create stunning pregnancy pictures together – ones that you’ll treasure both now and long after your baby has grown into an adult themselves!
We’ll capture you and your beautiful baby bump in the weeks before your little one is due to arrive, and will help you feel amazing in those final exciting weeks!
What you can expect from a maternity photoshoot at Kingshill Studios
1. An outdoor photoshoot
All our maternity shoots are held in the natural environment of our outdoor photography studio.
We believe that we’re unique in the Aberdeen area for having such an expansive outdoor space – a whole five acres – that’s for the exclusive use of our photography clients. It’s part of the Kingshill Studios difference, and it’s something that we are very proud about being able to offer you.

The pregnant ladies and families we’ve captured outdoors over the years have told us that the outdoor studio was a major draw for them since they knew they wanted a natural backdrop to their portraits.
If you know that you’d prefer an outdoor maternity photoshoot too, then we believe that we have the perfect setting here in the beautiful Scottish countryside.
2. Relaxed, natural maternity photos
Another thing that we’ll ensure is that you’re relaxed and comfortable. Our outdoor maternity photoshoots are fun, informal and are designed to be stress-free.
We want you to enjoy the experience rather than worry about how you should stand or pose, or about how you look, so we are there to guide you and support you throughout the session.
Review from Emma Davis:
“We recently had an outdoor photo session with Susan which was great. My husband and I don’t particularly enjoy getting our photos taken but Susan makes it fun so that you forget she’s behind a camera. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun and relaxed atmosphere for having your photos taken!”
3. Elegant, flattering maternity photography
Another thing that comes as standard as part of your outdoor maternity photoshoot with us is flattering photographs that accentuate your fabulous curves!
Thanks to Susan’s years of experience as a professional maternity photographer, she knows how to create pregnancy photographs that capture your pregnancy glow and reveal your baby bump in all its glory!
We have a wide selection of elegant maternity gowns which you can choose to wear during your pregnancy shoot, or you can wear something of your own. The clothes needn’t be tight-fitting, but many women do want to show their rounded tummy.
Whatever you choose to wear, we’re confident that you’ll love your pregnancy pictures and will be excited to display them on your walls at home and show them to friends and family.

4. A warm welcome to your close family members
While you can have your maternity shoot alone, please know that we can also capture pregnancy portraits of you alongside members of your close family, if you wish them to be involved.
In fact, we welcome with open arms the chance to do maternity photoshoots for couples who are expecting a child together. Or, if you already have children, it’s always wonderful to involve them as well.
A family pregnancy photoshoot can even include your pet if you’d like to bring them along – they’re family too after all!
Family maternity portraits are a lovely way to celebrate your pregnancy, and to show the close bond and affection you all share.
