As a highly experienced baby photographer in Aberdeen, many parents of twins have chosen us to photograph their babies as newborns.
In fact, so many pairs of twins have passed through our doors here at Kingshill Studios over the years, I’ve lost count!
The portraits I’m sharing here show just some of the twin baby photos we’ve created during that time. As you can see, we can create a wide variety of adorable twin portraits.

What happens during a newborn twins photoshoot?
A twin photoshoot is a calm and relaxing experience that typically lasts several hours.
You’ll be invited to join me at our photography studio, here at Kingswells, in the morning. The session will likely end around lunchtime. This ensures that we’ll have plenty of time to capture all the portraits that I would love to create for you, plus any that are on your wish list as well.
Since there are two babies to settle and photograph, naturally it may take slightly longer than a regular newborn photoshoot. However, in my 15 years of experience of photographing babies, I do tend to find that twins usually settle pretty quickly when positioned together – presumably because they are so used to being close in the womb!
Seeing the babies sleeping peacefully together is so wonderful to see and always melts my heart!
Who should attend a twin newborn photography session?
If both parents can be present, that’s very useful. I do always encourage both parents to attend if possible. If it isn’t, then you’re welcome to bring along another adult – the babies’ grandparent or a friend of yours, for example.
Having that extra pair of hands is helpful because, naturally, your baby twins will need to be fed and their bottoms will need to be changed during your time with us. More hands make lighter work!
Both parents may also be needed to help hold and support the babies. Your twins’ safety is my highest priority and having a parent or two close by when the babies are being photographed is important.
If your twins have an older sibling or siblings, they are also very welcome to attend. This then gives me the opportunity to involve them in the portraits as well.

Twin photography: precious family portraits to capture this special time
During your newborn twins’ photoshoot, I’ll photograph your babies individually and together in a variety of setups. I will also involve you – the parents – and any older children you have.
Those family portraits capture you all together at this incredible moment, in the days and weeks after you’ve welcomed two new little people into the family!
Becoming twin parents is a life-changing moment, and the family portraits taken now will bring back may happy memories for you in the future. In fact, I believe that as the years roll by, family portraits become ever more special and more precious.
As your twins grow up, they will also no doubt love their twin baby photos and find it fascinating to see themselves as babies.
Photography freezes a moment in time and help to preserve the memory forever. It’s certainly a wise investment.
