Here at Kingshill Studios in Aberdeen, we don’t just photograph babies and families. We also love to create beautiful portraits of couples of any age!
In my years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve taken portraits of hundreds of newly engaged couples, brides and grooms on their big day, and couples celebrating their wedding anniversaries.
Although I no longer photograph weddings, engagement photography is something we’ve been doing more of recently.
Here on the blog, we always like to show you what we’ve been up to. So, today we thought we’d share some portraits with you from those recent couple shoots.
Outdoor couple photoshoots
Here in the northeast of Scotland, we have fantastic scenery and beautiful outdoor settings which we can use as a backdrop to your photos. We certainly made the most of this during this engagement shoot – we went to Glencoe which was nothing short of incredible!
We captured a variety of couples portraits – a mixture of close-ups and those which took in the dramatic scenery. It was a real bonus that local wildlife, including deer, came up close to see what we were up to!
Capturing the excitement of this special time was an absolute pleasure and I hope they’ll treasure their engagement photos for many, many years to come!
Natural engagement photography
This is another couple who booked an engagement photography session with us recently.
For this shoot, we stayed a little closer to home but in a location that is just as beautiful. I photographed them within the grounds of our very own photography studio here in Kingswells.

This vast private space provides endless opportunities for pregnancy, family portraits and couples photography, and is something that not many other local photography studios offer.
We love to guide our clients around the many different areas of the space. Each provides a different backdrop and a relaxing, natural setting for your photos.
